Wife an i will be at Galveston beach this week planning on going to mcfaddin Friday or Saturday we went last year my question is is the line to cross the ferry always a long wait or is there a better option open to any suggestions or advice thanks
If you want to beat the ferry lines on the weekend, you will need to get up pretty early and plan on being there prior to 9am. Any time after 9am and it may/may not be crowded and there really is no predictable reason why sometimes the line is so backed up. Coming back in the afternoon/evening, plan on waiting again. Even with 5 ferries working, it still can get so backed up you will wait for an hour or more.
Here is one of the better tide sites for McFaddin Beach:
I’m going down on Saturday. It’s been a couple of years since I was last at that beach. I have met some nice people and had some fun experiences in the past! Hoping to see some people enjoying themselves.
For some reason I must have gotten distracted while posting the information above and left out two other websites that I routinely check for the tides at McFaddin Beach. I usually compare the three and most of the time they are pretty close to each other.
The tide App I use for Rollover, shows a high at 914a and a low at 335p and the next high at 951p. High tide being a +1 foot and low being at + 1/2. So not too high and not too low. Thats just the anticipated tides. What it actually does is a different story.
